England vs Australia, Ashes fourth Test live: Day-4 Match start dalayed due to rain at Old Trafford

England find themselves in a favorited position in the fourth Ashes Test 2023 at Old Trafford, Manchester, with Australia (113-4) trailing by 162 runs at the end of the third day. England have a nice chance to take control on the game, but the weather is not in his mood today hence for the fourth day added a twist into the match.

Australia, on the other side, are determined not to hand an easily victory to England, specially since they are aiming to win a men's Ashes series in England for the first time since 2001. With a 2-1 lead in the series and one match remaining after this, Australia know very well that a draw in Manchester would be enough for them to retain the Ashes,

After Bairstow's unbeaten knock of 99 powered England to 592 in the first innings to ensure a healthy lead of 275, pacer Mark Wood claimed three wickets to reduce Australia to 113 for 4 at stumps on day 3.

Bairstow, captain Ben Stokes (51) and Harry Brook (61) also added fifties during the hosts' innings, while Josh Hazlewood claimed a five-wicket haul for the visitors.

Australia, who had scored 317 in their first innings, were able to add only 113 with Marnus Labuschangne batting unbeaten on 44 at stumps. Now, the Australian number three batter will look to save an innings defeat when he walks out to bat on day 4 with Mitchell Marsh (1*).

There is an uninterrupted day due to weather at Old Trafford on day 1 and 2. But on day 3  delays due to rain. There is also interesting  prediction for rain on the final two days of the Test as England look to level the series.
